Loraine Jaye Durante, age 62, passed away at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital on October 11, 2019, with her family by her side.

Loraine was born on December, 31, 1956, in New York City, New York. She attended public schools and graduated from Brandeis High School. She worked as a bartender and met and married her husband, Ronald Durante, in July 1979. He preceded her in death. Loraine never had children.

After several years, Loraine returned to school and graduated with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Queens Community College. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years before retiring due to health issues.
Loraine’s sister moved her to Michigan after some additional health issues arose which prevented her from safely caring for herself. She resided in assisted living facilities for a number of years.

Loraine was well known for her “sassy” personality. She had a knack for trying to keep everyone hopping around her. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and drinking sherry. She also enjoyed her pet cats. She is survived by her older sister, Laura (Smith) Nardi, who loved her very much.

In accordance with Loraine's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
