Obituary for Ella Mae Hill (Miller)
Ella Mae Hill, 83 of Battle Creek, formerly of Athens, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 12, 2019.
Ella was born April 5, 1936 in Marion, Indiana to Margaret and Henry Miller. Ella was married to Lyle Hill for 23 years. She is survived by her 6 children, Jeff (Julie) Smith, Mike Smith, Brenda (Chuck) Reed, Stephanie (Brian) Pacillo, Joei (Tom) Ellis, and Valerie (Tim) Rowe; 14 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle and her Great Grandson, Jensen.
Ella loved spending time with her children and their families and loved big family get together's.
Ella was a waitress for over 60 years, many of those years were in the Athens area. She had fond memories and made great friendships at the Stone Inn in Athens.
A celebration of life service will be held on October 26, 2019 at noon at the Central Christian Church, 713 Riverside Dr. Battle Creek, Michigan 49015 with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations in Ella’s name be made to The Athens Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 22, Athens, MI 49011 or the Glenn Arbor Hospice Residence of Battle Creek, 5470 Glenn Cross Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
