Obituary for Michael Duane Machin

Michael Duane Machin, 70, of Springfield, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on April 6, 1948, the son of Karl D. Machin and Betty L. (Kimbel) Machin.
Mike graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School with the Class of 1967. He honorably and proudly served in the United States Army from 1968-1970 in the Vietnam Conflict, earning the Purple Heart.After the service, Mike dedicated himself to the St. Regis Paper Company for many years of work.
Mike is survived by his Three Brothers, Patrick Wayne (Trish) Machin, David John (Bambi) Machin, Daniel Arthur Machin; Sister, Donna Kay (Terry) Machin; Special Niece , Rhonda (Declan) Newman and numerous nieces, nephew, cousins and other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his Father, Karl D. Machin, Mother, Betty L. Machin.
Mike loved watching NASCAR, Detroit Lions Football, Star Trek, Sci-Fi Movies, and playing video games. Mike collected many different DVD's and cassettes, his collection is in the thousands. Mike's pride and joy was his Baby Blue Dodge Ram Truck. He will be truly missed by those that knew him.
A memorial service will be held at the Baxter Funeral and Cremation Service, 375 W. Dickman Road, on Saturday, October 13, 2018 starting at 2:00 pm.
Memorials may be made to the charity of ones choice.
The family would like to express their gratitude and extended a thank you, to the doctors and staff at Bronson Methodist Hospital for the care they provided for Mike during his stay. A special thank you to Andy Kerwin, for the care he provided for Mike.
